Robot welding machine

This equipment is a dual-station switching gas shielded welding (MAG/MIG) robotic welding machine. Designed for the high-variety, medium-batch production characteristics of the construction machinery and hydraulic cylinder manufacturing industry, this innovative machine integrates the cylinder circumferential weld station and the trailer lifting arm weld station into a single system.

Station A (Circumferential Welding): Utilizing a head-and-tailstock/dual-axis positioner structure, it is primarily used for circumferential welds between the cylinder barrel and cylinder bottom, trunnions, or flanges. Through external axis linkage with the robot, a ship-shaped welding position is achieved, ensuring aesthetically pleasing circumferential weld formation.

Station B (Structural Component Welding): Employing a tilting positioner or fixed platform, this machine is used for welding multi-ribbed and multi-angled structures in the trailer lifting components. Leveraging the robot's flexibility and high accessibility, it solves the problems of numerous blind spots and excessive spatter associated with manual welding.

Robotic welder 

1.Workstation A:Hydraulic cylinder circumferential weld unit

  • A dual-axis head and tailstock positioner is used. The spindle box is equipped with a servo motor to drive rotation, providing the rotational speed required for welding. In addition, it has a button box with the following functions: when the workpiece is ready at station A, pressing the green button starts the robot to move to station A for welding; pressing the yellow button during operation stops the robot; the red button is the emergency stop button, which stops the robot from working. The movable tailstock can be moved pneumatically and engages hydraulic cylinders of different lengths.
  • The support: It is guided by the guide rails, using ball screw manual adjustment mechanism to adjust up and down and locked. Universal ball supports the workpiece, to adapt to the workpiece adjustment in axial and circumferential direction, convenient to use.

2.Workstation B:Trailer lifting component welding unit

Typically, it is a frame-type flipping and positioning machine. One end is an active rotating shaft with a servo motor, and the other end is a precision-fitted driven shaft. The two work together to ensure smooth rotation and precise positioning of long workpieces during the welding process.

3.Welding robot system:

Mounted on a linear guide or fixed base, the robot is positioned between two workstations. It is equipped with an anti-collision welding torch, a torch cleaning and wire cutting mechanism, and an automatic wire feeding device.

IV.Main features

 

 

Multipurpose robotic welding equipment

  • Dual-station alternation doubles efficiency: The equipment allows for parallel external clamping and internal welding. While workers are loading and unloading trailer parts at station B, the cylinders at station A are welding, eliminating the need for robot standby and nearly doubling production efficiency compared to single-station operation.
  • Heavy-duty precision positioning ensures circumferential weld quality: For cylinder welding, a servo motor paired with a high-precision reducer ensures smooth rotation without crawling. Combined with the robot's coordinated movement, this ensures uniform and arc-free circumferential weld seams.
  • Flexible and versatile: The equipment overcomes the limitation of traditional dedicated machines that can only weld one type of product. After changing tooling, station A can accommodate cylinders of different diameters, and station B can accommodate different models of trailer lifting arms, suitable for multi-variety production modes.
  • High-quality weld formation: Utilizing pulsed gas shielded welding technology, combined with the robot's stable walking speed, effectively reduces spatter. For thick plate fillet welds in trailer lifting components, multi-layer, multi-pass welding programs can be preset, resulting in aesthetically pleasing welds.
  • Operational safety: Fixed or automatically lifting arc light shields are typically installed between workstations, equipped with light curtains or safety doors. While one workstation is welding, another is loading and unloading, ensuring no interference and protecting the operator's vision.
