This specialized machine is designed for high-strength double-ring welding of axle ends and axle tubes. It employs a dual-gun synchronous symmetrical welding process to effectively counteract thermal deformation, ensuring that the coaxiality of the welded axle end surpasses industry standards. Equipped with a high-rigidity bed and precision rotary drive, the machine achieves automatic completion of two circumferential welds in a single setup, while maintaining consistent weld penetration and aesthetically pleasing finish. The independent station control system integrates parameter pre-storage and fault self-diagnosis functions, ensuring both efficiency and reliability in heavy-duty axle welding production.

III.Axle Head Double-Torch Circumferential Seam Welding Machine Main features

 

 

1. The welding torch is fixed, the workpiece rotates, and the welding position is horizontal.

2. A welding bed is used; the welding torch and pneumatic tailstock are adjustable longitudinally and can be locked after adjustment.

3. The workpiece is positioned by a chuck, secured by a pneumatic center, and rotates synchronously. A loading and unloading bracket is located at the bottom.

4. An OMRON PLC from Japan is used; the workpiece rotation is achieved using an AC servo motor with stepless adjustment, improving reliability.

5.Welding current and voltage are controlled by D/A and can be preset and called in layers, enabling multi-layer continuous welding without interruption of the electric arc.

1.Welding torch clamping and adjustment mechanism

The welding torch adopts a wire-pushing method to ensure stable wire feeding. The welding torch can be finely adjusted up and down, left and right, and angle. The welding torch fine-tuning adopts a dovetail design and uses a lead screw adjustment, which is accurate and has high positioning precision. After adjustment, it can be tightened. Two welding torches can be controlled for welding independently or simultaneously. The parameters of each welding torch can be set independently, making operation simple and practical. After the welding torch is adjusted, it can be directly aligned with the welding position, reducing back-and-forth movement and saving operation time.

2.Pneumatic Tailstock

The pneumatic tailstock is equipped with a chuck clamp, and the base is adjustable along the guide rail to meet the welding requirements of different products. The workpiece is pneumatically clamped and rotated along with the pneumatic mechanism. The extended portion is equipped with dust and splash protection devices.

3.Universal Ball Support

Two manual standard support brackets, guided by guide columns, are manually adjustable. Universal ball bearings support the workpiece, accommodating axial and circumferential adjustments for ease of use.

Two cylinder-equipped support brackets serve as workpiece positioning brackets. They are installed on the left side near the spindle box and on the right side near the driven chuck. The support brackets are mounted on positioning tooling plates.

 4.Camera system

This specialized machine is equipped with a high-definition camera system, enabling close-up monitoring of the molten pool dynamics and weld formation. The camera features anti-spatter and high-temperature resistance, transmitting images in real-time to the display screen. This allows operators to clearly monitor the welding status without approaching the high-temperature zone, effectively eliminating blind spots and ensuring uniform double-ring welds, providing direct assurance of shaft head welding quality.

Meanwhile ,using the Kunlun Homogeneous Touchscreen as the input/output interface, welding length, arc initiation and termination time, welding current, voltage, and the oscillation frequency, oscillation amplitude, and oscillation time of the welding torch during the welding process can all be input through the interface.

V. How to operate the machine

 

 

Manual loading → workpiece clamping → pneumatic clamping of workpiece → pneumatic feeding of welding torch to welding position → supply of shielding gas → arc ignition → welding, filler wire → reaching the predetermined welding length, lifting and oscillating welding torch to weld multiple layers until welding is complete → arc termination → stopping of shielding gas supply → rapid retraction of welding torch → releasing of workpiece
