I. Main features

 

 

Automatic Laser Longitudinal Seam Welding Machine:

 

Precision piano-key type clamping mechanism ensures no displacement of the sheet metal throughout the welding process, solving the "warping" problem caused by thermal expansion and contraction.

 Double-sided forming technology: Single-sided welding, double-sided forming. The weld is smooth and aesthetically pleasing, significantly reducing or eliminating the need for post-weld polishing.

 Laser welding: Highly concentrated laser energy results in a minimal heat-affected zone, with almost no workpiece deformation, making it particularly suitable for precision parts and thin-walled components.

III.Main components

 

 

1.Precision splicing worktable and clamping system:

  • Structure: The worktable surface is made of wear-resistant cast iron or precision-machined steel plate. It is covered with universal ball bearings for easy loading and unloading. The core component is its "piano key" clamping mechanism, distributed along both sides of the weld seam, with each clamping finger capable of independent pneumatic lifting.
  • Function: Before clamping, it facilitates the pushing in of sheet metal and edge alignment; during clamping, it sequentially presses the sheet metal from the center outwards, effectively eliminating gaps between the sheets and providing uniform and powerful downward pressure, which is crucial for achieving misaligned and seamless splicing.

2.Plate edge alignment system (positioning cylinder):

Its main function is to quickly and accurately clamp and fix the workpiece to be welded (such as pipes, plates, etc.) in a preset welding position before welding. Driven pneumatically, the positioning cylinder pushes the clamp or stop, ensuring the workpiece is strictly aligned with the welding trajectory (such as the welding torch or laser head path), thereby eliminating weld deviations caused by workpiece displacement or deformation.The number of positioning cylinders varies depending on the workpiece length. This equipment is equipped with 3 positioning cylinders.

3.Laser Welding Execution Unit:

  • Structure: Includes a fiber laser (light source), transmission fiber, welding head, cooling system, and cross slide motion system. The welding head is mounted on a precision linear module (X-axis) driven by a servo motor. The entire module can also move along the length of the equipment (X-axis) driven by the servo motor. In addition, the welding head can be manually fine-tuned on the Z and Y axes. The entire welding head is positioned by the up-and-down movement of a cylinder.
  • Function: The laser generates laser light, which is transmitted through the fiber optic cable to the welding head and focused on the workpiece surface. The cross slide enables high-precision movement of the welding head in a two-dimensional plane, completing the welding of the entire straight line.

4.Real-time Weld Seam Tracking System:

  • Structure: Typically a laser vision sensor independent of the welding head, equipped with a coaxial laser illumination lamp.
  • Function: During welding, the sensor emits a laser line towards the weld seam. A camera captures the weld seam shape, and the coaxial laser illumination lamp provides precisely collimated light while acquiring high-quality images, providing crucial illumination for high-precision visual inspection and measurement. The cross slide can be manually driven for millisecond-level fine-tuning compensation to ensure the weld seam is centered during welding.

5.Integrated Control System:

  • Structure: Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) + Touchscreen HMI.
  • Function: The PLC handles low-level logic control, such as starting and stopping pneumatic components, servo motors, and lasers. The HMI controls all parameter settings, program calls, and process monitoring via the touchscreen, providing an intuitive interface and smooth operation.
  • Video monitor: It can display the captured weld conditions on the monitor.
