How the Laser Cladding Process Works
1. The agricultural machinery part is cleaned and installed in the appropriate fixture.
2. The laser power, scanning speed, powder feed rate and cladding path are set according to the workpiece and coating material.
3. The laser beam creates a controlled molten pool on the selected surface.
4. Alloy powder is delivered through the coaxial cladding nozzle.
5. The powder melts together with a thin layer of the base material.
6. The molten material rapidly solidifies to form a continuous metallurgically bonded coating.
7. The cladded part is inspected and can be ground, turned or polished when the final application requires a specific dimension or surface finish.
