I.Main components 

 

 

1. Industrial Robot (Material Handling Core)

Role: Typically a heavy-duty, high-precision, and highly repeatable six-axis articulated robot, it performs a dual task.

Material Handling Function: The robot's end effector is equipped with a customized pneumatic or servo gripper that automatically picks up wheels and axles from the material rack or conveyor line and precisely places them at the welding station. After welding is completed, it automatically unloads the components.

2.The automatic welding machine

  • In this machine, the workpiece is positioned and clamped at both ends by two key devices. A chuck is mounted on one side of the spindle box; this device typically has clamping and driving functions, responsible for reliably gripping one end of the workpiece and providing the necessary rotational power during welding. On the opposite side, a clamping mechanism (hydraulic clamping device) is configured. Its core function is to push the workpiece axially towards and clamp it onto the chuck, ensuring that the workpiece maintains precise concentricity and a stable axial position throughout the entire machining process, thus laying a solid clamping foundation for high-quality circumferential welding of the support rollers.

  • The water-cooled box of the support roller welding machine is mainly used to circulate the cold welding torch, ensuring stable operation of the equipment during long-term continuous welding and preventing overheating. The wire feeder is responsible for smoothly and accurately delivering the welding wire to the welding area. Its stable wire feeding speed and tension control play a crucial role in ensuring weld quality and welding efficiency. The two work together to ensure the reliability and consistency of the support roller welding process.

  • This heavy-duty wheel welding machine system is equipped with an integrated dedicated touchscreen for convenient human-machine interaction and welding parameter adjustment; it also features real-time monitoring software to ensure precise tracking and quality control of the welding process. The core of the system is coordinated and commanded by a robot controller, ensuring accurate and efficient welding actions; and it is equipped with a dedicated transformer to provide a stable and reliable power supply for the entire system.

III.Working process

 

 

  • Loading Stage: The robot picks up the workpiece to be welded from the loading rack and places it at welding station A, completing the loading process.
  • Welding: After the first welding machine begins welding, the robot uses a clamp to simultaneously pick up the wheel body and axle head according to a pre-programmed motion trajectory, moves to station B, precisely places the axle head into the welding hole on the wheel body, and then retracts.
  • Clamping and Welding: The clamp at station B automatically clamps the workpiece for welding.
  • Welding Completion: After welding is completed, the robot automatically removes the welded workpiece and resumes the loading process.
