In traditional welding methods, workpiece loading/unloading and welding operations cannot be performed simultaneously, leading to equipment idleness and becoming a bottleneck restricting production capacity. To address this pain point, our company's dual-station welding robot system employs an advanced interactive layout design.

In this system, the robot body is centrally located, with an independent welding station on each side. While one station is performing precision welding operations, the worker on the other side can safely perform workpiece loading, unloading, and clamping operations. This collaborative "welding and assembling simultaneously" mode achieves zero downtime, maximizing robot utilization and truly making it "affordable and cost-effective" for customers.

 

 

Core Component: Hydraulic Cylinder

• Process Challenges: Circumferential Welding, Penetration Requirements, Sealing
• As a core actuator in engineering machinery, the quality of the circumferential weld of the hydraulic cylinder directly determines the product's load-bearing capacity and sealing life.
• At this workstation, we have configured a servo-driven rotary positioner. After the workpiece is clamped, the positioner rotates the workpiece at a uniform speed, while the robotic welding torch maintains the optimal posture to perform multi-layer welding (root pass, fill pass, and cap pass) on the circumferential weld of the cylinder or piston rod.

 

This solution offers the following advantages:

• One-time Forming: Combined with a high-precision positioner, a ship-shaped welding position is achieved, ensuring a beautiful weld formation free of defects such as undercut and weld beads.
• Digitalized Parameters: Through a preset welding database, welding current, voltage, and rotation speed can be precisely controlled, ensuring the consistency of each circumferential weld and meeting the pressure resistance test requirements of high-pressure cylinders.

 

Trailer lifting components are typical engineering machinery structural parts, usually assembled from steel plates of varying thicknesses, containing numerous vertical fillet welds, horizontal fillet welds, and irregularly shaped weld seams, placing extremely high demands on the robot's flexibility and programmability.

To address this challenge, our solution boasts several key advantages: **Quick Tooling Change Design:** Considering the diverse, small-batch production characteristics of trailer lifting components, station two employs flexible fixtures with standardized interfaces. When changing workpiece models, rapid positioning and clamping are achieved, significantly reducing production changeover time.

**Deformation Control:** Utilizing intelligent robot programming, alternating or symmetrical welding of the workpiece's front and back sides effectively disperses welding heat input, solving the industry-wide problem of warping and deformation of thin-plate parts during welding.
