i.overview
The MAG-4M pipe welder is a semi-automatic specialized welding equipment designed for butt welding of long pipes and cylindrical workpieces. Addressing the challenge of synchronous rotation of dual spindle heads (one end head + tailstock) for long pipes, this machine employs a single spindle head (drive head) design.
During operation, one end of the workpiece is rigidly connected to the spindle head via a dedicated clamp, receiving rotational power, while the other end rests freely on an adjustable-height support. The welding head is fixed to the axial travel mechanism, enabling automatic welding of the circumferential seam. This equipment features a simple structure and convenient clamping, making it particularly suitable for circumferential welding of various specifications and long pipes.

III.Machine Structures
1.This welding machine employs a single-end drive spindle box structure, directly clamping and driving the rotation of the tubular workpiece via a chuck within the spindle box. The other end of the workpiece is passively supported by an adjustable-height support frame, eliminating the need for a tailstock. This open design simplifies the mechanical structure, allows for loading of long tubular workpieces from the end, and facilitates the placement and observation of weld seam tracking devices.



2.In this equipment, the welding torch's advance and retreat are pneumatically controlled to achieve precise timing during the welding process. This design typically uses a cylinder as the actuator, which, in conjunction with a programmable logic controller (PLC) via a solenoid valve, automatically controls the welding torch to precisely advance at the start of welding and automatically retract at the end of the arc, based on a preset welding program or spindle rotation position signal.
